Graduation Day at St. Xavier’s

It was Graduation on 2nd March, 2015 at St. Xavier’s College and St. Xavier’s College of Management and Technology. The staff members and the students of the college gathered to celebrate the graduation.

In the morning, the ceremony began with a prayer service by the vice- Principal of the college Dr. Fr. Sushil Bilung, SJ at the college chapel. The graduates were asked to relive the memories of the three years they spent in the college and also share their experiences both positive and negative.

The ceremony continued with the traditional lighting of the lamp by Rector, Fr. Joseph Thadavnal, SJ, the Principal Dr. T. Nishaant, SJ, Dr. Fr. Raymond Cerubim, SJ, CoE, 3rd year students Kartavya and Deeplata, to symbolize the presence of God in our midst. The students also took a pledge to remain connected with the college wherever they are and to contribute their share to the development of the colleges and to nation-building. Some of the graduates came on stage to share the pleasant memories and experiences of the days spent in St. Xavier’s Colleges that has left an indelible impression.

Dr. Sr. Mudita Soddar, RCSJ on behalf of the management and the staff members congratulated all the graduates and wished them all success in their future with her inspiring speech.

The Principal Dr. Fr. T. Nishaant, SJ in his speech to the graduates stressed on 4Cs of Jesuit Education, namely; Commitment, Competence, Compassion and Conscience. He also requested the graduates to let the college feel proud of them by what they become in the future.

The first and second year students entertained the outgoing students with a few song recitals. The programme was anchored by Anural, Medha, Mukund and Architaj who conducted the proceedings with class.

The vote of thanks was proposed by Gautum Chauhan from B. Com (P) 2nd year. The programme ended with the singing of National Anthem.
