New Hostel Facilities for Tribal girls at Ratanpurwa

Connecting the children of the deprived sections of society to the main stream educational system by providing quality and affordable education has been the attempts of Jesuits and other collaborators at Ratanpurwa. Residential training conducted at the center for ‘Tharu’ and ‘Oraon’ tribal girls prepares them to enter into the main stream educational system and dream of a better future. This initiative has enabled a number of girls to complete their higher studies and get employed.

To expand such empowering activities, Seva Sadan, Ratanpurwa has developed its infrastructural facilities, the recent being the improved hostel facilities, kitchen and dining area. The new building was blessed and inaugurated on September 21, 2014. Rev. Fr. Lawrence Paschal, SJ, the Administrator of Bettiah diocese, blessed the building and Fr. Anto Joseph, SJ, the social action coordinator of the province, inaugurated it by cutting the ribbon. A large number of parents of the children of the residential program attended the function.

Congratulations to Fr. Martin Poras, SJ and his team at Ratanpurwa. We salute your untiring effort to educate the children of the deprived sections of our society.
