Fr. Gerald Drinane, A missionary in India for 60 years Dies

Fr. Gerald Drinane, a great missionary of Patna Church, dies after 60 years of long service to the Catholic church in Bihar. Fr. Jerry, as people called him lovingly, came from USA as a missionary and worked in Patna in different capacities as an administrator, teacher, and formator. After landing in Patna as a young scholastic, he was ordained a priest in 1962 at the pro cathedral, Patna.

Fr. Jerry was an ardent hard worker, who devoted himself completely to his assigned work with perfection. Meticulous in his approach to his assignments, he was a model Jesuit to younger Jesuits who have received formation from him at various stages of their lives. Patna Church has lost an exemplary priest, a devoted Jesuit, and a committed missionary.
