Swami Vivekanand Remembered
Patna, 17Th January, 2017: In lieu of National Youth Day on 12th January, 2017, St. Xavier’s College and St. Xavier’s College of Management and Technology jointly celebrated National Youth Day on the birth anniversary of “Swami Vivekananda”.
Fr Rector Joseph Thadavanal SJ, St. Xavier’s Colleges was the Chief Guest on the occasion. Students enacted a skit on the life and times of Swami Vivekananda. A documentary made by the students of mass communication department, based on Swami Vivekananda was also screened on this occasion. A Collage Contest was organised for the students of the college, on the theme of the life, work and values of Swami Vivekananda as a part of the event. The programme had the audience glued to their seats.
The Social Awareness Committee Chair CS Mala Upadhyay and Co-Chairs Prof. Joel D’Cruze, Prof. Anurag Ambastha and Prof. Piyush Sahay organised the meaningful event, guided by Fr. Martin Poras, S.J. and Dr. Marie D’cruz. Speaking on the occasion, Ms. Archana Jha spoke on the life journey of Swami Vivekananda. She said, “Swami ji lived an extraordinary life and introduced the rich cultural legacy of India to the world.”
Seema Kujur of BBA -1 proposed the vote of thanks. The Principal, Dr. Fr. T. Nishaant, SJ, the Vice Principal Fr Martin Poras S.J., the Controller of Examinations, Fr Raymond Cherubim S.J, and Fr. Raj Kumar S.J were also present on this occasion.
