From internship to college: Students return gaining valuable experience

On Wednesday, it was the occasion to welcome the third year students of St. Xavier’s College of Management and Technology back to the college after a gap of four weeks during which the students of BBA, BCA and B-Com (P) took part in internship programs in various organizations. Some of the organizations where the students interned include NTPC, Sudha, Bata, Power Grid Corporation, ICICI, HDFC, Coco Cola, Hindustan Unilever, DVC, Langjob, ITC, Indian Railways, Samaritan, Honda, Moreish and Uco Bank.

Students shared their experiences during the orientation programme held for them. Anukul Kapoor (BCA) said he got to work on real time projects and in the process he was able to improve his computer skills.

Anupriya Sinha (B-Com (P)) said that it opened her eyes to new opportunities. Srishti (BBA) shared that she was able to apply what she had learnt in her classroom to real work environment, adding, it strengthened her resourcefulness, skills and confidence.

Youth icon RJ Shashi from Radio Mirchi, who was the chief guest, was invited to motivate and inspire the students and lead them on to their final year in the college. Hailed as ‘Humor ka Baap’ (Father of Humor) by the people of Bihar, Shashi won the hearts of the students by his talk which was followed by an interactive session. Shashi spoke about how work, fun and responsibility go together. He stressed on the importance of creativity, observation and humor in life and also guided the students on how to make the best out of any internship opportunity.

Chairman, Regenerated Organization of implore, Mr. Reji James also motivated the students by explaining the importance of hard work and selfless service.

A Cambridge English session by Ms. Nutan Choudhary was also held.

Also present on the occasion were the Vice Principal, Fr. Sushil Bilung, Fr. Raymond Cherubim and the faculty and staff of the college.
