Graduation Day at St. Xavier’s Colleges

St. Xavier's College and St. Xavier's College of Management and Technology, Patna, jointly organized Graduation Day Ceremony for Magadh University students, on 14th March, 2016 in the college campus. It was an occasion to bid a ceremonial adieu to graduating students of 2013-2016 batch. The Graduation Day affords a platform to cherish the association of students with their alma mater, exhorting them to embrace values and excellence with sincerity and courage despite life's challenges.

The programme began with the ceremonial lighting of lamp by the Chief Guest Ms Richa Sinha, Director Quality Assurance, Hotel Maurya, Patna, , Fr Joseph Thadavanal, SJ, the Rector, Fr Dr. T. Nishaant, SJ, the Principal, Br Tony Dias, SJ, the Treasurer, the representative from Administrative Staff, Mr. Tapeshwar Prasad Yadav and student representative, Mayank Kashyap. This was followed by the felicitation of the Chief Guest by Fr. Dr. Raymond Cherubim, SJ and a solemn pledge-taking ceremony, led by the Students' Cabinet President, Br Uday. Outgoing students took the solemn oath to stand tall in life by serving society and their country.

A lineup of talks by Shweta, Mathew, Piush Paul, Charu and Abhilasha, regaling the audience with their three years campus life, was interesting. Mark Page and Vikas Upadhyay presented a fantastic rendition of songs on the farewell theme. The group song by Janita Mallick and Team, as also by Charu Verma and Group were lively. The outgoing batch of students was presented with mementoes on the occasion. Raushan Ara and Mritunjay David anchored the event skillfully. Pooja Kumari, proposed the vote of thanks, prior to the singing of the national anthem. Photography, food and fun were the frolicsome feature of the farewell fiesta.

The Chief Guest, Ms Richa Sinha spoke eloquently to graduating students about the crucial milestone they had achieved in their life, which if judiciously assessed, could bring them success. She also spoke about why and how students need to prepare well, prior to an interview, why hard work would unlock the door to success and why the candidates need to do homework is necessary in order to be well informed about the company they apply to.

Meticulous planning by the core-committee ensured the event's smooth conduct. The Coordinators of the event were ably assisted by the Vice-Principal, the Controller of Examinations, the Academic Committee and the Professors and students of the college.
