On the timeline of St. Xavier’s College and St. Xavier’s College of Management & Technology, 27th June 2015 will be marked as a memorable day, for the First Alumni Meet – Meet & Greet – was organised on this day on the College Campus.

Going by the Xaverian tradition the meet began with the lamp lighting ceremony and a prayer song.

In his address to the alumni who were gathered in the De Nobili Hall, Fr. Joseph Thadavanal, SJ, Rector of the Colleges said that though students learn and leave in three years time they become a part of the Xavier Family for all times to come. He looked forward to meeting them not only at alumni meets but on every other occasion.

Welcoming former teachers and students, Fr. Dr. T. Nishaant, SJ, Principal of the Colleges underlined the fact that for all at St. Xavier’s College education was humanisation and a bonding that was so special that meeting and greeting was a part of the Xaverian culture. Always stay connected was his message to the alumni present.

College alumna Akanksha Verma made memories with her video collage “Glimpses” where she put together moments from the years gone by while those ex-students who could not join the meet connected through technology to share their success stories.

The juniors put together a short cultural programme of song and dance to regale their seniors who had passed out of SXC.

The SXC Alumni had a wonderful time and some of them shared with the audience some of their unforgettable moments on the campus and the classroom.

As the evening lengthened a game of Housie, followed by Boney and Group’s singing brought the house down, more so as they all joined in to shake a leg.

The vote of thanks was proposed by Vishal Singh and the programme was compered by Akanksha Verma and Abhay Singh, both ex-Xaverians. The evening ended with everyone gathering for dinner and more dancing.
