Celebration of Diwali with ‘Rangoli’ Competition

To usher in Diwali- the festival of lights - a Diya and Rangoli making competition was held on Thursday October 21, 2014, at St. Xavier’s College and St. Xavier’s College of Management and Technology, Patna.

Ten groups of students participated in the competitions which saw creativity at its very best. The competitions came up with innovative designs and their enthusiasm was evident in the colorful and attractive Rangolis that they made.

The judges, Fr. Joseph Thadavanal, SJ, rector of the Colleges, Fr. Robert Athickal SJ, director of Tarumitra, and Mr. Alexander Natal, praised the students for their efforts and creative ideas. Zoya, Sana, and Khushbu of BBA 3rd year were adjudged the winners. Ritha, Sagar, Ahilya, and Priyanka Malhotra of B.Com (Professional) 2nd year won the second prize while the third prize was awarded to Anjali, Shivani, Nikhil, Neha, and Sudhanshu of BCA 1st year.

Fr. Dr. T. Nishaant, SJ, principal of the colleges and Fr. Dr. Sushil A. Belung, S J, vice principal of the colleges congratulated the winners and wished everyone a happy and bright festive season. The competition was organized by the cultural committee of the college headed by Dr. Marie D’Cruze, Mr. Ashok Kumar, and Mr. Vineet Singh under the guidance of Fr. Dr. Raymond Cherubim, SJ.
