Independence Day celebration Asha Deep, Muzaffarpur Center



The 67th Independence Day was celebrated at Asha Deep, Muzaffarpur Center with great zeal and fervor. The entire premise was beautifully decorated with crepe papers, flowers and tri-color flags. Though it was drizzling since night the trainees showed keen interest in celebrating this glorious day. Rev. Fr. Joseph Pulickal, S.J. (A renowned Hindi Writer, Editor & Analyst) was the Chief Guest. Rev. Fr. Jesuraj, S.J. and Brothers of Asha Deep Community, Trainers and other dignitaries graced the occasion.

The function started at 9 o’clock at the playground of the center with the unfurling of the National Flag by the chief guest. This was followed by the singing of the National Anthem, March Past and few trainees delivered speeches to mark the importance of this glorious day. Speaking on the occasion Rev. Fr. Pullikal, S.J. insisted that the trainees always fight against one’s life, health and the liberty and encouraged students to work hard and become worthy and responsible citizens of the country.

Followed by the flag hoisting, a short cultural program was held at the hall and the trainees performed various programs like patriotic songs, dance and comedy skits to name a few. The function came to an end with a vote of thanks by Rev. Fr. Jesuraj, S.J. He shared his personal experience about the importance of being free and urged the trainees to ask a question always "What am I doing for the country?" rather than asking "What the country has done to me?" He urged the students to take an oath to remain loyal to their work and be patriotic to their beloved motherland and put all efforts to live up to the expectations of their motherland.

After the lunch the students had a friendly cricket match with the brothers of Muzaffarpur diocese at Masihi Gurukul. Everyone enjoyed the day to its full.
