Faculty Development Programme at St. Xavier’s



St Xavier’s College and St Xavier’s College of Management and Technology, Patna leave no stone unturned in providing opportunities for growth and development of its core team of professionals. The college management organized two separate, lively and engrossing Faculty Development Workshops for their teaching staff in the magical month of May. Professors from Patna Women’s College and St Xavier’s College of Education, Digha, also took active part in the sessions.

The first Faculty Development Programme from 20th-21st May, 2016, on Ignatian Spirituality was directed by renowned Jesuit resource person Fr Donald Miranda, SJ, who has trained at the Western Jesuit School of Theology, Cambridge, MA, USA. His keen eye, polymathic knowledge, plus masterly storytelling skills contributed to making the session concise and clear, a powerful tool to catalyze catharsis and change.

The second three-day Faculty Development Programme from 24th-26th May, 2016 on Self Transformational Healing was guided by Mr Stan Lobo, CERTIFIED TRAINER for a basket of corporate training services such as Mentoring, Coaching, Leadership, Healing, Neuro Linguistic Programming, Counselling, Designing Educational & Training Programmes, Emotional Intelligence (EQ) Assessment, and Extended DISC Assessment. Ex Vice–President, Training & Development, Pepsi Co. India, Mr Lobo now runs POTTERS WHEEL independently as its Founder-Director. To quote ad verbatim: For my living I have been a Trainer cum Facilitator all my life in the Corporate sector, but have graduated to my own Training Consultancy at Bangalore in India. My organisation is Potters Wheel indicating my desire to be an architect / potter in facilitating human growth and transformation.

Chief Editor, Ms Archana Jha, exhorted Honorable Rector, Fr Thadavanal SJ, the Principal, Dr Fr Nishaant SJ, Founder-Director Potter’s Wheel, Mr Lobo, Placement Team Member, Ms Anand and Sr Celine AC, PWC to release the college magazine, holding up the new edition of Xaverian Waves. Ms Supriya Kumari’s soulful prayer song set the tone for the day as the lamp was ceremonially lit to inaugurate the session. Prof. Vineet Singh and Prof Karn proposed the vote of thanks for the two finale sessions, while Mr Joel D’Cruz and Ms Neerja Lal guided the prayer sessions.
