Christmas Celebrations in the Province



St Xavier’s Colleges Celebrated Christmas


Soaking in the spirit of Christmas, St Xavier’s College and St Xavier’s College of Management and Technology jointly celebrated Christmas with full fervor on 23rd December at college premises.

Sister Surabhi SSH, Provincial of sisters of Secret Heart, was the chief guest on the occasion. The program began with the lighting of the sacred lamp. The lamp was lit by sister Surabhi, Father Joseph Thandavanal SJ, Father T Nishant SJ and Father Raymond Cherubim SJ. Responsorial prayer was conducted by Janita and group followed by carol song sung by Ayush and group. Nativity enactment which was presented by the students of college festooned the entire campus in festivity.

There was a book release of Dr Fr Raymond Cherubim SJ, named ‘Pope Francis’ by the Chief Guest Sister Surabhi.

While addressing the students, the Chief Guest said, “This day is not an ordinary day. Christmas is not the celebration of birth of human person but it is the celebration of birth of God becoming a human person. Lord Jesus left the glory of heaven to help the human kind. So, we must inculcate the habit of helping others, forgiving and working for the welfare of human kind.”

The Chief Guest felicitated the winners of different competitions also. A mesmerizing Christmas dance by Nisha and group won the hearts of the students.

The Programme was concluded with the vote of thanks given by Shubham Kesar, a student of BBE-1st year. Shivangi of BA-1st year and Sanchit of BCA-2nd year anchored the programme.

Rector Father Joseph Thadavanal SJ, Principal Father Dr. T. Nishaant SJ, Vice Principal Martin Poras SJ and Controller of Examination Father Dr. Raymond Cherubim SJ were also present on the occasion.



Christmas Carol Competition at Ravi Bharati



The annual as our annual Carol Competition was held at Ravi Bharati on 20th Dec2016. This is an annual feature in which Schools, Colleges and regional groups participated with great enthusiasm. Teams from St. Xavier's College, Patna women's College, St. Michael's High School, Don-Bosco Academy, St. Caren's High School, St. Dominic High school, St. Paul's High School, St. Mary's Higher Secondary School, and Kurji Parish participated in the event, which also was witnessed by a large audience. A total of 20 Mesmerizing Carol songs were presented by 10 Institutions. Arch Bishop William D'souza SJ, the arch bishop of Patna arch diocese, was the Chief-Guest. In his message he appealed to all present to be messengers of peace, joy, and happiness. The winners in each category were awarded at the end of the event. The Arch Bishop gave away the awards.
