It’s a Black Day

St. Xavier’s College and St. Xavier’s College of Management and Technology, Digha Ghat, Patna observed a silent protest with great grief and solidarity for the 132 children who were gunned down by the Talibans in Peshwar, Pakistan.

To mark this Black Tuesday, the Director of the College Fr. Joseph Thadawanal SJ., the Principal Dr. Fr. T. Nishaant SJ., the Vice Principal Dr. Fr. Sushil Bilung SJ., the faculty members and the students of the college gathered outside the college gate with their placards with slogans against Taliban terrorism and their brutal act. This was followed by a silent protest.

To mourn the brutal killings of innocent children everyone covered their mouths with black pieces of cloth and held placards with slogans like, “Stand united against terrorism” which was made by Niharika, Manisha, Janita, Piyush and Richard. “Mazhab jodta hai, Todta nahi”- made by the group comprising Manish, Sarvesh, Anshu, Atul and Paurush, while “Koi dharma himsa nahi sikhata hai” was the brainchild of Rishu Sinha, “Aatank ka hai khouf, Jisme bachon ne payi maut”- was the way Ankit Gulshan expressed himself.

This programme was organized by the Social Awareness Committee comprising the chair Mr. Rakesh Kumar Pathak, members Mrs. Mala Upadhyay and Mr. Prakash Upadhyay under the able guidance of Dr. Sr. Mudita RSCJ.
